'Would Devastate Families'
Senator Parker Space, Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia and Assemblyman Mike Inganamort just urged NJDOL to withdraw its independent-contractor rule.
Whoa, Nellie, am I lucky to be represented at the state level by lawmakers who understand the independent-contractor policy issue!
The three elected officials from my district in New Jersey—state Senator Parker Space, Assemblyman Mike Inganamort and Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia—just sent this scathing letter to the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development, urging NJDOL to withdraw its proposed independent contractor rule in its entirety.
All three of these lawmakers are Republicans. They are adding their voices to those of seven Democrats in the New Jersey Legislature who have also come out publicly on the side of protecting independent contractors.
I cannot thank these lawmakers enough. They also took the time to meet with me as their constituent, and to understand the policy problem. They are following the legislation in Washington on this issue, as well, and they fully have our backs.
